Lizet is based out of our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office and practices throughout the State of Florida. She concentrates her practice in the areas of business and corporate law, commercial transactions, and business litigation.
She is licensed to practice law in her native country of Colombia, as well as in Florida. She has dual law degrees: one from Universidad Externado de Colombia in Bogota, Colombia, and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Thomas University College of Law in Miami, Florida.
Lizet has several years of experience assisting international clients conduct business within the United States and facilitating their understating of multijurisdictional issues. She has experience in international and domestic business matters, business immigration, corporate governance, joint ventures, member and shareholder disputes, complex commercial transactions, and government contracts amongst others. Lizet has advised businesses and foreign governments on contracting and purchasing activities, as well as domestic contract compliance, litigation, and procurement. She has been invited multiple times as an international lecturer on issues of comparative contract law and multinational business transactions. She has a proven track record of achieving positive outcomes for her clients.
While in Colombia, she clerked for an administrative law judge in the tax division, and she practiced along with one of the top constitutional law attorneys in Colombia where she gained a solid understanding on constitutional challenges within the business realm.
